Mrs. Lettie Shipmon (Shipman)79 native of Veedersburg, died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lettie Remboldtin, Indianapolis. Funeral services were held in Veedersburg Wednesday with burial at Bonebrake Cemetery. Mrs. Shipmon was first married to Fred Dolph and from this union a son, Clifford, survives. She was later married to Joseph Shipmon who preceded her in death 10 years ago. Surviving from this marriage are 3 daughters: Alta, Lettie Reimboldt, and Annie Johnson, and a son, William.  Eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.

Lettie Shipman born June 22, 1869, in Fountain County, daughter of John and Katherine Keplinger, died July 28, 1946 of chronic heart trouble, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jetta Reinhold, Indianapolis, Indiana. In 1889, she was united in marriage to Joseph Shipman of Veedersburg and to that union were born 8 children, four of whom died in infancy and a daughter Alta Shipman passed away 11 years ago. She spent her entire lifetime in Veedersburg until the accidental death of her husband Sept 11, 1930 and then she came to Indianapolis to live with her daughter.  Wherever she was, she made a host of friends for she had a warmest of kindness and generosity that shown out like the sun.  She was quite active until the past two years during which time her health began failing rapidly, six months ago she became bedfast. She was a member of the Calvery United Brethren Church.  She is survived by two sons, Clifford Dolph of Veedersburg, by a previous marriage, and William H. Shipman of Kenosha, Wisconsin; and two daughters, Anna Johnson of Kokomo, Indiana and Jetta Reinhold of Indianapolis. There are 8 grand children and four great grandchildren.
