DANVILLE, Ill. — Garner “Bill” Sherrill, 88, Danville, Ill., died at 11:20 a.m. Monday, July 12, 1999 at his residence. Born Nov. 10, 1910 in Attica, he was the son of Charles Wesley and Mary Letitia Garner Sherrill. He married Marjorie Janice Brown March 19, 1935 in Lafayette, who survives. He graduated from Attica High School in 1932. He was a U. S. Army World War II veteran. He worked as a projectionist in 1927 at the Attica Movie House. He then worked for the Chicago, Attica and Southern Railroad beginning in 1928. He retired in 1974 from the Wabash/Norfolk & Western Railroad. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Bible Chapel. He enjoyed gardening. Survivors, besides his wife, include: son, Wm. David (Joan) Sherrill, Danville; daughter, Nancy (Jan) Stuenkel, St. Louis, Mo.; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sister, Bertha Sams. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant Grove Bible Chapel with Pastor Jack Wagoner officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Attica, with military rites by Attica V.F.W. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Pape Memorial Home and Gardens, 10 E.
