Attica – Hugh Sheridan, Jr. 72, former Harrison Steel Castings Co employee, died at 11:15 a.m. Thursday in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette. He had been seriously ill two weeks. Mr. Sheridan had been a security guard at Harrison Steel Castings for several years. He lived at 803 S. McDonald St. Born in Attica, June 17, 1912, he had spent most of his life here and attended Attica schools.  His first marriage was Feb 15, 1952 in Attica to Adrienne Jane Bever. She died Jan 9, 1981. On July 16, 1982 he was married in Lafayette to Olive J. Charles. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church, Attica; Attica Eagles 2596; Community Hospital Guild; and Elks Club 143 in Lafayette.  Surviving are two brothers, Harold Sheridan of Attica and Forrest Sheridan of Indianapolis; and one sister, Mrs. Veril (Barbara Jean) Merrill of Cedar Lake. - kbz

Hugh Sheridan Jr., 72, 803 S. McDonald St., Attica, died at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette, Thursday, Jan. 31, at 11:15 a.m.  He had been seriously ill two weeks.   He was born in Attica, June 17, 1912, the son of Hugh and Mamie Bills Sheridan Sr.  He had lived most of his life in Attica and attended Attica school.  He had worked as a security guard at Harrison Steel Castings Co., Attica for several years.  He was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Church, Attica, a life-member of Attica Eagles Lodge No. 2596, Community Hospital Guild, Williamsport, and Elks Club No. 143, Lafayette.  He was first married Feb. 15, 1952, in Attica, to Adrienne Jane Bever, who preceded in death Jan. 9, 1981.  He remarried July 16, 1982, in Lafayette, to Olive J. Charles.   Survivors include two brothers, Harold, Attica, and Forrest, Indianapolis, and one sister, Mrs. Veril (Barbara Jean) Merrill, Cedar Lake, Ind.  Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with the Rev. Fred Gschwind officiating.  Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica.  Selections of “He”, “How Great Thou Art”, “Climb Every Mountain”, and “Oh Happy Day” were played by Sankey Raisor.   Those who served as pallbearers were Richard Charles, Brent Charles, Garland Carter, Harold Dotson, Forrest Stickler, Dick Dobbels, and Harold DeBord. – thanks S for all the great typing work
