Mrs. Katherine Bales Shelton, 64, a former resident of Crawfordsville, died Sunday night at a Danville, Ill., hospital following an operation. Mrs. Shelton was a native of Illinois. She had made her home in Danville since leaving here about 15 years ago. While a resident of Crawfordsville her husband, J. C. Shelton, was associated with the Lee bakery. Surviving are a son, Floyd Shelton, of Wichita Falls, Tex.; two daughters, Mrs. Lee Cox, of Covington, and Mrs. Norman Byerly, of Chicago, and two sisters, Mrs. Edith Jackman, of Ladoga, and Mrs. J. D. O'Connor, of Indianapolis. Funeral services probably will be held Wednesday in Covington, with burial also in Covington.   --typed by Walt W

Kathryne Bayles Shelton, 65, of 916 E. Seminary, died at 11:30 p. m. Sunday (Mar. 11, 1951) at St. Elizabeth Hospital, where she had been a patient for two weeks. Mrs. Shelton had been ill since Christmas. She was born Feb. 13, 1886, in Georgetown, the daughter of Millard and Mae Gadd Bayles. Mrs. Shelton was a member of an Indiana Methodist Church and the Valetta Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in Veedersburg. Survivors include her husband, Joseph C., four children, Floyd M., Wichita Falls, Tex., Mrs. Lee Cox, Covington, and Mrs. Norman Byerly, Dyer, Ind.; eight grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Hubert Jackman, Ladoga, Ind., and Mrs. Joseph O'Connor, Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son. Funeral services will be at 3:30 p. m. Wednesday at the Barrick and Sons Funeral Home. The Rev. A. F. DeGafferelly will officiate and burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington.   --typed by Walt W
