SHELLEY, Everett

Everett Ernest Shelley, age 63, was found dead Tuesday morning, March 15 at his farm home 3 miles south of Hillsboro in Jackson Township by Lloyd Chambers, Standard Oil truckman of Hillsboro. Ralph Nelson, Fountain County coroner, attributed death to a heart ailment. The coroner said Mr. Shelley, who was last seen alive by neighbors Saturday night, probably had been dead 36-48 hours. He had lived alone since the death of his wife 8 years ago. Born near Ladoga June 17, 1896, he was a son of Charles and Etta Linn Shelley and was raised in the Alamo community. He was twice married, first to Ura Bever and later to Mrs. Minnie Young. The latter died in 1952. Mr. Shelley had farmed most of his life. Surviving are two cousins, Roy Thompson of Crawfordsville and Carl Shelley of New Ross. Funeral services will be Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock at Fishero Funeral Home, Veedersburg. The Rev. John Servies will officiate. Interment will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. = kbz
