Mrs. Ethel IL. Shelley, 45, died at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday at her home in Veedersburg. She was ill 17 years and seriously ill five days. Mrs. Shelley was born near Glasgow, KY April 6, 1904, the daughter of Porter and Sarah Perdue Smith. She was a member of the Church of God. She also leaves four children: James E, Williamsport; Howard at home; Mrs. Genevieve Minnick, Stone Bluff and Mrs. Ruth Cates, Cates; two brothers, Edward L. Smith, Covington and Joe Smith, Columbus, Ind.; a half-brother, William Byrd, Glasgow, Ky; two half sisters, Mrs Gladys Epstett, Cave City, Ky and Gwendolyn Smith, Veedersburg, and her father at Veedersburg. Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon at the Sterling Christian Church with the Rev, Thomas Bolan officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Hillsboro --– transcribed by kbz
