Veedersburg, Ind.—Wallace Shell, 71, of Hillsboro Route 1, died at 9 p.m. Monday (May 20, 1974) at his home. Death was due to natural causes.
Born Aug. 3, 1902, in Veedersburg, he was the son of George and Dora Wallace Shell. In 1938 in Veedersburg, he married Verna Madge Carey, who survives.
Mr. Shell had retired from the New York Central Railroad.
Survivors include his mother of Golden Manor Nursing Home at Ladoga; a daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Kay Watkins of Bloomington, Ill.; four sisters, Mrs. Kathryn Jones of Dayton, Ohio, Mrs. Freda Oakley of Evansville, Mrs. Bernice McGraw of Salem, Ill., and Mrs. Mary Fairchild of Crawfordsville; a brother, James F. of Dayton; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A sister preceded him in death.
Services were at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Parham Funeral Home, with the Rev. Glen Youngblood officiating. Burial was in Bonebrake Cemetery. -s
VEEDERSBURG — Wallace Shell, 71, a retired New York Central Railroad employe, died at 9 p.m. Monday in his home on Rt. 1, Hillsboro. A native of Veedersburg, he was born Aug. 3, 1902, a son of George and Dora Wallace Shell. He was married to Verna Madge Carey in 1938 at Veedersburg. She survives.
