Covington—John J. Sheetz, 51, 515 Washington St., Covington, died at 5 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, 1989 at his home.
He was born Nov. 22, 1937, in Bridgeton, the son of Joseph William and Edna E. Beatty Sheetz. He was married Aug. 31, 1979 in Danville, Ill., to Darlene L. Current, who survives. He was an auto mechanic. Surviving, besides his wife are three daughters, Cheryl Lutes, Cayuga; Cindy Sheetz, Danville, and Rhonda Bowling, Columbus, Ga.; a son, Kenneth Joseph, Columbus, Ga.; three brothers, Lynn Crothers, Lakeville; Richard Sheetz, Rantoul, Ill., and Jim Sheetz, Hoopeston, Ill.; five sisters, Loretta Stultz, Lafayette; Lillian Acres, Plymouth, Mary E. Thompson, Cloverdale; Marjorie Bradfield, Rockville, and Bertha Sheetz, Chicago, and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg, with the Rev. Allen Phillips officiating. Burial was in Danville National Cemetery. – s
