WILLIAMSPORT — Mary M. (Kennedy) Shamp, 87, Williamsport, died at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2007 at her residence. She was born June 18, 1919 in Warren County, the daughter of Miles Andrew and Jessie D. (Keister) Kennedy. She married George A. Shamp Dec. 5, 1936. He preceded in death Feb. 9, 2000. She attended Williamsport High School. Before moving back to Warren County in 1956 she lived in Miami County, for seven years. She worked for RMC in Attica and then went to work for General Electric in Danville, Ill., retiring after 25 years of service. She was a member of the West Lebanon Christian Church, the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Post #3318, and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #259 of Williamsport. Survivors include: three sons, Richard “Dick" Shamp, Houston, Texas, Roger Shamp, Clovis, N.M., and Ralph (Sheri) Shamp, Williamsport; a daughter, Barbara (Jarrell) Florey, Williamsport; two brothers, Miles (Rovene) Kennedy and Fred (Pat) Kennedy, both of Williamsport; four sisters, Delilah Lucas, Alta (Dick) Wagner, Betty Bennett, and Shirley (Chuck) Borst, all of Williamsport; 17 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Kate Kinneer; a brother, Harrison Kennedy; and a daughter-in-law, Arlene Shamp. Visitation will be from noon until service time at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) in Grady Funeral Home, Williamsport, with the Revs. Jerry Miller and Paul Stamm officiating. Burial will be in West Lebanon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Elizabeth Hospice Care of the American Heart Association.
