MILL VALLEY, Calif. — Robert Shaffer, 80, Mills Valley, Calif., died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006. He was born Aug. 27, 1926, the son of Lloyd and Josephine Shaffer. He was married to Carolyn, who survives. He attended Attica schools and Indiana University, where he was a member of the Marching 100. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a commercial photographer in San Francisco, doing a great deal of work for ARCO at Prudhoe Bay and the Panama Canal Zone. Survivors, besides the wife, include: a son, Dan (Becky) Shaffer; two grandchildren, Zak and Tori; and a sister, Ruth Endicott, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Roy and Donnie Lee Shaffer. Memorial services will be held at a later date in California. – jlr
