SHAFFER, George - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

George Shaffer, 65 years old, died this morning shortly after midnight after an illness of only a few hours with an affliction that physicians were unable to diagnose. Mr. Shaffer became ill Tuesday evening and it is thought he may have suffered ptomaine poisoning from eating tomatoes. He had worked all day Tuesday and seemed in good health. Mr. Shaffer was born near New Richmond and lived in that neighborhood till five years ago when he came here. His wife died in January 1951. Four children, Mattie and Ethel of Ft. Wayne and Charles and Nora, of this city survive. - kbz
