SHADE, Marion - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mr. Marion Shade died Saturday night at the home of his sister, Mrs. Rosetta Gephart where he had made his home for the past 17 months. Mr. Shade was born Sept 29, 1877 at Hillsboro, son of James M. and Elizabeth Hibbs Shade.  He married Leota Harbaugh who preceded him in death. Before moving to Veedersburg he had made his home in South Dakota for 16 years and had been a school teacher and more recently a decorator. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Leota Gilmore of Sullivan, Ind; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Death of Veedersburg rural route and Mrs. Gephart and a brother Sherman Shade of Hillsboro. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.  Funeral services were Monday afternoon at Parham Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Richard Owen officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill cemetery at Hillsboro. – kbz
