SHADE, Mabel Marie - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

HILLSBORO — Mabel Marie Shade, 91, formerly of Hillsboro and had been residing at Williamsburg Healthcare Center, Crawfordsville, died at 9:40 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2002 at the center. She was born Nov. 19, 1910 in Hillsboro, the daughter of Garfield and Mary Gray Shade. She was a life resident of Hillsboro, moving to Crawfordsville in July 2000. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1929. She was a home care attendant to several families in the Hillsboro area. She was a member of the Hillsboro United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and the Cain Township Home Economics Club. She was a former member of the Pythian Sisters Lodge in Hillsboro. She loved gardening and raising flowers. Survivors include: a niece, Lillian Davidson, Crawfordsville; a nephew, Gerald (Barbara) Shade, Noblesville; a sister-in-law, Vera Shade, Crawfordsville; and several great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest D. Shade. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday in Maus Funeral Home, Hillsboro, with the Rev. Rob Rixman officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hillsboro United Methodist Church. – jlr
