Mrs. Pearl Settles, 69, died at 12:35 a.m. Monday at her residence, 129 W. Linden, after an illness of three months. Born in Attica, Ind., on Feb. 2, 1887, she was the daughter of John and Martha (Ubelhauser) Painter. The deceased was a member of the St. Luke's Lutheran church, L. A. to B. R. T. and the Eastern Star. Survivors include a brother, August, Indianapolis; a nephew, Philip, Indianapolis, and several cousins. Final rites will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Fisher chapel with the Rev. Walter Davis Jr., officiating. Burial will be made in Mt. Hope cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 7 p.m. Monday.
