Franklin Edgar Servies of Covington, age 84, died Monday morning, January 4, at Covington Manor Nursing Home. He was born at Advance, June 16, 1897, the son of Ora Wayne and Flora Ann McElfresh Servies. July 14, 1920, he married Patience Harden, who survives.
A graduate of Danville, Illinois, High School, he was a member of First United Methodist Church and Anchor Masonic Lodge in Danville. He had been an insurance agent in Covington for 40 years, was an auditor for the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles several years, business administrator for Indiana Women’s Prison and a former accountant for the Central and Eastern Illinois Railroad. Also surviving are two daughters, Beverly Wichus of Covington and Ann Crouse of Fort Myers, Florida; his mother of Indianapolis; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. Robert Miller officiating.
