George F. Serie of Attica, age 67, died Thursday morning, January 1, in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette. He was born near West Point, December 23, 1913, the son of Theophiel and Louise Marie Loke Serie. August 19, 1937, he married Hilda Jeniece Nicholson, who survives.
A farmer many years in Davis Township, he retired in 1972 and moved to Attica. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church and the Fountain County Farm Bureau. He had been active in the Meals-On-Wheels program in Attica since his retirement.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mary Robbins of Lafayette; two sons, Russell and David, both of Attica; four sisters, Mrs. Irene Mattox of Attica, Mrs. Maxine Emrich of Logansport, Mrs. Agnes Myers of Chalmers and Mrs. Mary Ann Wuest of Phoenix, Arizona; three brothers, Chester and Ed, both of Attica, and John of Lafayette; and seven grandchildren.
The body was taken from Maus Funeral Home in Attica to St. Francis Xavier Church for services Saturday morning with Father Ed Matuszak officiating. Burial was in the Catholic Cemetery at Attica. - Thanks to S

Born near West Point in Tippecanoe County, he attended schools at Pyle and Davis. He had resided in Davis Township most of his life, coming to Attica in 1972 after he retired from farming.

Surviving with the widow are two sons, Russell and David Serie, both of Rt 2, Attica; one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Mary) Robbins of Lafayette; four sisters, Mrs. Howard (Irene) Mattox of Rt 1, Attica. Mrs. Bernard (Maxine) Emrich of Logansport, Mrs. Agnes Meyers of Chalmers and Mrs. Norbert (Mary Ann) Wuest of Phoenix, Ariz.
