Lance D. Sells, 48,
of Williamsport, died at Country Care Nursing Center at 4:50 a.m. Monday,
October 30, 2000. He had been in failing health the past two years. Born in
Williamsport on October 16, 1952, he was the son of Ingelow O. and Mary R.
(Dirickson) Sells. He had lived in Williamsport most of his life and graduated
from Williamsport High School in 1971. Lance had previously worked at Harrison
Steel Castings Co. in Attica. He was a member of the Williamsport Christian
Church. He loved automobiles and country music. He enjoyed writing poetry. One
of his poems, “I Had a Girlfriend,”
was made into a song and recorded by a Nashville recording studio. He loved to
travel and had an avid interest in law enforcement. Surviving, are: his mother,
Mary R. Sells of Williamsport; two brothers, Larry (Melanie) Sells of
Indianapolis and Lane (Tammy) Sells of Crawfordsville; one sister, Lynn (R.A.)
DeSutter of Attica; three nieces and five nephews; and four great-nephews. He
was preceded in death by his father. Visitation was Tuesday at Fisher Funeral
Home, Williamsport. Service there on Wednesday with Rev. Don Williams
officiating. Interment in Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made
to the Williamsport Christian Church. –
