Georgetown, Ill.—Goldie Scott, 94, Georgetown, died at 7:03 a.m. Sunday, May 14, 1989 at the Americana Healthcare Center, where she had made her home for two and a half years.
She was born March 10, 1895 near Perrysville, the daughter of Henry and Josephine Swindall Bouton. The Boutons were a pioneer family who settled in the Perrysville area in the early 1800’s. She was married July 25, 1912 to Jesse Scott who preceded her in death in 1967.
She was a former member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Georgetown.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Doris Johnson, Georgetown, and Mrs. Richard (Bernice) McMurtrey, Kokomo; one granddaughter, Mrs. Rodney (Pamela) Mikel, Springfield, Ill.; one grandson, Kevin Scott McMurtrey, Chicago, and three great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, James Johnson, an infant daughter, four brothers and six sisters.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with the Rev. Kenneth Oathout officiating. Burial was in Georgetown Cemetery.
