ATTICA — Ellen Josephine (Wolfe) Bowman Schutz, 94, Attica, died at 12:45 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007 in Woodland Manor Nursing Center, Attica. She was born Aug. 6, 1913 in Attica, the daughter of Edward “Eddie” and Bertha Ellen (Workinger) Wolfe. She married Paul Devaughn Schutz Aug. 23, 1944 in Attica. He preceded in death March 29, 1999. She had lived all of her life in Attica, where she attended Attica High School. She had formerly worked at ALCOA in Lafayette and later for Cabinet Craft and Mahoney Grocery in Attica. She more recently worked for Radio Material Corp. in Attica. She was a longtime member of the Attica Christian Church; a member of the Women of the Moose, Attica Chapter #23, where she held the degrees in Academy of Friendship, Star Recorder and College of Regents; and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. Post #3318 of Attica. Survivors include: a daughter-in-law, Betty Bowman, Lafayette; three grandsons, Michael (Doris) Bowman, West Lafayette, Steven (Debra) Bowman, Rossville, and Robert Bowman, Dayton; two great-granddaughters, Kristen and Whitney Bowman; and a great-grandson, Cody Bowman. She was also preceded in death by a son, William Edward Bowman; a sister, Mabel Zenor; and a brother, Charles Wolfe. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) in Maus funeral Home, Attica, followed by a gravesite service at 11:15 a.m. in Riverside Cemetery, Attica, with Pastor Bob Elness officiating.
