She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed in the Fountain County Section of Local History at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

COVINGTON – Mrs. Fred (Nannie) Schumacker, age 70, a resident of the Covington community for the past 28 years, died at her home on Covington Rt. 2 Friday, Feb. 2. Death was unexpected. Mrs. Schumacker was born March 6, 1897, in Howard, the daughter of Edward and Sylvia Christy Rhodenbaugh. She was married to Fred Schumacker in 1916 and he survives. The Schumackers operated a vegetable market on U. S. 136, in front of their residence, for 12 years. Surviving, in addition to the husband, are: two daughters, Mrs. Robert T. (Lillian) Moudy of Covington Rt. 2 and Mrs. Paul (Lucille) Pouilliard of Danville, Ill.; one brother, Perry Rhodenbaugh of Howard; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Howard Chapel Church. The Rev. Charles Williams, pastor of the Benson Chapel Church, officiated. Burial, with the Hegg Funeral Home of Covington in charge, was in Miller Cemetery.   -– jlr
