SCHUMACKER, Fred John - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Fred John Schumacker of RR 2, Covington, age 88, died Tuesday morning, June 29, in Vermilion Manor Nursing Home. He was born at Danville, Illinois, December 3, 1893, the son of John and Frederika Schumacker. In March of 1915, he married Anna Rhodenbaug, who died February 2, 1968. A retired fireman, he was employed in the boiler room of Danville Veterans Administration Medical Center for 23 years before retiring in 1963. He had also operated a fruit and vegetable market on SR 136 several years.

  Survivors include a daughter, Lucille Pouilliard of Danville, Illinois; six grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and a great great grandchild.

  Funeral services were held this morning (Thursday) at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with burial in Miller Cemetery near Howard. – thanks to S
