Austin Roland Schumacher, 78, of 810 Glendale, Tilton, died at 2:10 p.m. yesterday (July 11, 1969) at the Veterans Administration Hospital where he had been a patient since July 2. Mr. Schumacher was born Feb. 16, 1891, in Foster, Ind., to George and Susie Boughner Schumacher. A World War I veteran, Mr. Schumacher was a member of Tuxedo Park Baptist Church, Indianapolis, and Irvington Masonic Lodge No. 666, Indianapolis. He was last employed by Herf-Jones Jewelers, Indianapolis, where he worked since 1932, before retiring in 1965. He had lived in Tilton for the past three years. His wife, Grace, survives. Also surviving are: a son, Dale C. Schumacher, Anaheim, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Russell Myers and Mrs. Marshall Brown, both of Indianapolis; a brother Lervis of Waynesboro, Va.; a sister, Mrs. Hazel White, Cataula, Ga.; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. Schumacher was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be held at the Dorsey Funeral Home, Indianapolis, at 10:30 a.m. (EDT) Tuesday. Entombment will be at Washington Park East, Indianapolis. The Pape Memorial Home was in charge of local arrangements. --typed by Walt W
