ATTICA — Stephen Thomas Schreck, 56, Attica, died at 9:38 p.m. Sunday, July 16, 2000 in the emergency room of St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. He was born Sept. 28, 1943 in Lake City, Minn., the son of Harold and Julia Funk Schreck. He was raised in Lake City, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1964. He later received his business degree from Purdue University. He formerly worked as a plant manager for the Ice Cream Speciality Company and more recently had been working for SIA in Lafayette. He was a veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict, serving in the U. S. Air Force. He was a member of Attica First United Methodist Church, where he was serving on the board of the Thrift Shop. He was serving as secretary for the Friends of Attica Public Library and was active in community and Attica school committees. Survivors include: a daughter, Laura Marie Schreck, a junior at Attica High School; his parents, Harold and Julia Schreck, Lake City, Minn.; five sisters, Mary Dombrowski, Las Vegas, Nev., Frances Skaff, Egg Harbor, Wis., Susan Mutschler, Billings, Mont., Patricia Dalton, Minneapolis, Minn. and Julie McDevitt, Quincy, Ill.; and four brothers, James Schreck, Charleston, W.Va., Richard Schreck, Shakope, Minn, Kurt Schreck, Minneapolis, Minn. and Greg Schreck, Chicago, Ill. Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Saturday in Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with Pastor G. Scott Pattison officiating. A memorial service will be held later in St. Mary's Church, Lake City, Minn.
