ATTICA — Peggy Ann (Osborn) Schmid, 69, a resident of rural Attica, died 7:55 a.m., Oct. 2, 1999, at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital in Williamsport. She had been in ill health the past 15 months and hospitalized the past 15 days. Born May 11, 1930 in Detroit, Mich., she was the daughter of Fred and Edith Flanders Osborn. She married Charles H. “Bounce” Schmid Sept. 7, 1946. He preceded her in death Nov. 19, 1992. She lived in the Attica area most of her life. She attended Attica High School. She was a homemaker and manager of Ruby's Dress Shop in Attica for 10 years. She was past president of the Attica Firemen Ladies' Auxiliary and a past member of the Attica Eagles Club. Survivors include: daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Connie A.) Swadley, Williamsport, Mrs. Neal (Jill A.) Gremore, Attica, Mrs. Howard (Trudy A.) Weaver, Attica; sister, Phyllis Booe, Pekin, Ill; brother, James E. Smith Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Fisher Funeral Home chapel in Williamsport. Rev. Don Williams officiated. Burial was in the Highland Cemetery in Williamsport. Memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Society or the Heart Association. – jlr
