SCHERMERHORN, Ethel Gebhart - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Hillsboro - Mrs. Ethel V. Schermerhorn, 87, of Hillsboro died Thursday afternoon (20 July) at Colonial Crescent Convalescent Center at Indianapolis. She had been a resident of Hillsboro and Newtown all of her life. She was a member of Newtown Presbyterian Church and had attended Newtown school. She was born March 24, 1891, at Newtown, the daughter of William D. and Nellie Vandervogen Gebhart. She was married to Charles Schermerhorn Dec 29, 1909. He died August 7, 1961. Surviving are a son, Van M. of Indianapolis; a grandson, David a. Schermerhorn of Indianapolis; a sister, Mrs. O.K. (Louise) Galloway of Crawfordsville; and two great grandchildren. Funeral services are Monday at 11 a.m. in Crumley Williams Funeral Home at HIllsboro, Rev. B.K. Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Newtown Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Sunday.
