SCHERER, Calvin - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Veedersburg – Calvin Scherer, 76, former Fountain County sheriff, died at his home Thursday at midnight, after suffering a heart attack six months ago. He was born in Lima, Ohio, but had resided in the local vicinity since the age of 10. Surviving are the widow, two daughters, a son and two sisters. Mr. Scherer served one term as sheriff from 1896 to 1900 and until recently was night captain of police and night watchman here. Funeral services were to be held at the home Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock. - kbz
