Teresa Scaggs, 15-month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Scaggs of 306 Sherman St., Veedersburg drowned in
a bathtub in her home at noon Thursday.
The Veedersburg Rescue Squad administered artificial respiration to the child but their efforts were to no avail.
Coroner Robert Shelby, the Veedersburg Police Department and Fountain County Sheriff Art Cruea are investigating.
The child's body was taken to Sever Mortuary in Veedersburg.
Coroner Shelby reported that the child's mother was at home at the time of the drowning.
The child, who was playing in the bathroom, was found by the mother. The father was working in Champaign, Ill., at the time of the accident.
The couple have two other children.
