Wingate, Oct 6 - William Sayers died at his home in Lafayette, Oct 4, 1914 aged 77 years. He was born at Sugar Grove where he lived many years, and has a large acquaintance and many friends and relatives. He was the son of the late Robert Sayers, and a brother of Alexander Sayers, Mrs. Sarah Cade, Mrs. E.E. Miller, and Mrs. M.M. Borum, near Sugar Grove. He became a Christian and united with the Methodist Church in early life and was ready to enter the eternal life in the home of the soul. He leaves a wife and 3 children. The funeral was conducted at Sugar Grove church Tuesday at 10:30 by Dr. G.W. Switzer, assisted by Rev. W.F. Switzer and Rev. H.B. Dick, pastor of the church. Interment at Sugar Grove Cemetery.   -- kbz
