Louisa Catherine, the wife of John Sayers, died at her home in this city early Sunday morning following a lingering illness. Her aged husband has been lying in a paralyzed condition for many months. She was in her 72nd year and her husband is nearly 15 years her senior. The funeral service was conducted on Tuesday afternoon by Rev. EW Strecker of the ME Church and the following tribute to her was prepared by a friend and read at the services, Louisa Catherine Sayers was born in Covington, Indiana Nov 17, 1848 and died in Covington, March 24, 1915 being 71 years, 4 months and 27 days of age at the time of her demise. She was the daughter of Catherine and William Murray. She had lived all her life in this place, loved and cherished by all who knew her. She gave her heart to God in 1881 and united with the Christian Church and has been a good, faithful member ever since, attending regularly only when duty compelled her to remain at home. She was married to John Sayers when quite young, only 17 years of age. They have lived 55 years in loving companionship together. They have experienced many joys during their life and when sorrows came, which must come to all who take up the responsibilities of life, they bore them together with mutual helpfulness. To this union were born six children, 3 of whom have preceded her to the grey beyond. She leaves two sons and a daughter, Caleb and Thomas and Mrs. John Burnell, 9 grandchildren and one brother, Ed Murray and one sister, Mrs. Rhoda Barkley, besides a large number of loving friends to mourn their loss. She was happy to go, only her greatest regret and sorrow was to leave her loving husband in his great affliction --- kbz
