SAVAGE, Frost R.

Source: Covington Friend 19 March 1915 p 1

Frost R. Savage was born in Covington, Ind May 18, 1887 and has lived here all his life.  He received his education in the city schools.  He was employed in various capacities and enjoyed the confidence and esteem of all with whom he came in contact. He had made electricity a study and was one of the best in the city.  He was a loyal friend and congenial companion.  He was always ready and willing to do all he could for everyone and had a very sympathetic heart.  He was a most devoted son to his parents, always looking forward to lend a helping hand to them.  He was very devoted to his mother and made her his confidential friend.  He was preceded into the life beyond by an only and beloved sister, Nani Faye who last request to him was to be a good boy and live an upright and good life so that they might meet again.  This he certainly did for he was loved by all who knew him.  He departed this life March 11, 1915 at the age of 27 years 10 months and 7 days.  He is survived by his sorrowing father and mother, who feel very keenly the loss of their beloved son… (poem)   --- kbz

We are informed that the coroner after holding an inquest on the death of Frost Savage rendered a verdict that his death was caused by an abscess on the brain and that the inhaling of chloroform was not the cause though it may have contributed to hasten his death.  There was report that he had committed suicide because he had used the chloroform but there was nothing of that kind.  The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church and was attended by a large concourse of people.  --- kbz
