COVINGTON — Willis D. Sare, 78, of Rt. 2, Covington, a former Allis Chalmers dealer in Covington and a retired farmer, died early this morning in his home. He had been ill several years. He had resided on Rt. 2, Covington, for 50 years. Mr. Sare was born at Bedford on June 7, 1898, a son of William Asbury and Sarina Jones Sare. He was married to Ruby Nell Whitesett on Dec. 24, 1920. She died on Dec. 2, 1975. Surviving are four sons, Paul William of Monticello and Willis D. Jr., Harley and Larry Joe of Rt. 1, Perrysville; three daughters, Mrs. Phillip (Mescal) Azzara of Long Island, N.Y., Mrs. Glenn (Myrtle Dean) Romack of Brookston and Mrs. Michael (Velma Rita) Allen of Rt. 3, Covington; a sister, Mrs. Velma Sheetinger of Danville, Ill.; a half-sister, Mrs. Helen Fay Thomas of Kalamazoo, Mich.; 24 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, two daughters, a brother and two sisters. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home with burial in Lower Mound Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday.   --typed by Walt W
