Elmer (Red) Sanders, 57, of Yeddo, died at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14 at Veterans Administration Hospital in Indianapolis, after an illness of several years.
He was born in Fountain County April 1, 1908, the son of Walter and Minnie Simmerman Sanders. He was married to Betty Jo Cory April 16, 1938.
She survives along with three daughters, Mrs. Emma Lou Plucket of Kingman, Mrs. Shirley Robinson of Kingman and Helen Louise, at home; six.sons, Elmer, Eugene, William Wesley, Charles Lee, James Wayne, and Joseph Earl, all at home; six grandchildren; three brothers, James of Portland Arch, Charles of Yeddo and Carroll of Vallejo, Calif.; three sisters. Mrs. Mildred Smalley of Attica, Mrs. Ruby Stembaugh of Yeddo and Mrs. Mae Brandenburg, no address.
He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Attica VFW.
Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Fishero Funeral Home in Veedersburg, with the Rev. Lowell Barnard of Kingman officiating. Burial was in, Centennial Cemetery.
