Covington – Mrs. Chris (Doris Marie) Sand, age 61 a resident of Tacoma, Wash who died in a Tacoma hospital Sept 26 was the daughter of Mrs. Lista Smith and sister of Fred Smith, both Covington residents. Mrs. Sand was born in Indiana but had been a resident of Tacoma 25 years. Funeral services were conducted at the Mountain View Funeral Home in Tacoma and burial was in a cemetery there. Surviving Mrs. Sand in addition to her mother and brother in Covington are: her husband; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Dwain (Carol) Cameron of Tacoma and Mrs. Robert (Andrie) Miller of Portland, Ore; five sisters: Mrs. Grace Morris of Illinois and Mrs. Susie Mead; Mrs. Virgie Connors; Mrs. Florence Saker and Mrs. Flossie Stout, all of Indiana; another brother, Charles Smith of Illinois and three grandchildren. – kbz

Covington, Ind. – Services were this week in Tacoma, Wash., for Mrs. Chris (Doris Marie) Sand, 61, a former Covington resident. She died in a hospital there and had lived in Washington about 25 years. Survivors include the husband; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Carol Cameron of Tacoma and Abdrie Miller, Portland, Ore.; her mother, Mrs. Lista Smith of Covington; five sisters, Mesdames Grace Morris, Susie Mead, Virgie Connors, Florence Saker and Flossi Stout; two brothers, Fred Smith of Covington and Charles Smith of Illinois, and three grandchildren.   -– jlr
