John Blain Samuels, 80 of Lodi died of a heart attack at his residence at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday after a year of failing health. He was born April 2, 176 in Fulton Township, Fountain County the son of Edward R. and Elizabeth J Hobart Samuels and was married to Elizabeth J. Bever Feb 19, 1934. Surviving with his wife are two brothers, Joseph and Louis; one sister Mrs. Anna Wann all of Kingman Rt 2.  He resided in Silverwood where he was engaged in farming until 1908 when he moved to Lodi. Since then he has worked on the railroad and for the Neal Gravel Co.  He was a member of the Freedom Christian Church near Wallace.  Services were held Friday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. John Servies officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. - kz
