Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Samuels, age 79, who died at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, in the Rudisill Nursing Home, Second St., Covington, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. The Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Samuels, who had been a resident of the nursing home since Oct. 25, 1962, was born Jan. 26, 1887, in Fountain County, the daughter of George and Sarah Cory Bever. She was married Feb. 19, 1934, to John Blaine Samuels, who preceded her in death Nov. 6, 1956. She was a member of the Freedom Christian Church near Wallace. She had spent her entire life in Fountain County. Surviving are: one sister, Mrs. Ura Pearl Brown of the Indiana Soldiers Home in Lafayette; one nephew, Clinton Bever of San Antonio, Tex.; two nieces, Mrs. Robert E. (Marie) Clemence of Covington and Mrs. Bernice Alderson of Kingman Rt. 2; and a great-niece, Mrs. Georganna Carter of Kingman. --typed by Walt W

COVINGTON -- Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Samuels, 79, died at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday in Rudisill Nursing Home here. She had been a resident of the nursing home since Oct. 25, 1962. Mrs. Samuels was a member of the Freedom Christian Church near Wallace and spent her entire life in Fountain County.
