ATTICA — Funeral services for Lonnie Sams, age 62, of 303 Market St., Attica, who died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, in the Community Hospital at Williamsport, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the DeSutter Funeral Home here. The Rev. Carl Sewell will officiate and burial will be in the Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Mr. Sams, who had been ill since April 17, was born Feb. 24, 1903, in Fairmount, Ill. He formerly was employed by the CA&S Railroad and the Poston-Herron Brick Co., and last was employed by the state highway department. He was married in Newport Nov. 25, 1935, to Golda York, who survives. Also surviving are: two sons, David of Attica and Howard of Defiance, Ohio; one daughter, Linda, at home, and four brothers, John of Romney, Ferman of Newport, and Louie and Orville, both of Crawfordsville. Four sisters also survive and they are: Mrs. Carrie Hazelwood of Lodi, Mrs. Lillie Hartley of Kingman, Mrs. Opal Allen of Waveland and Mrs. Mabel Ellis of Crawfordsville.
