Charles L. Sampson, 76 died at his home in Veedersburg at 2 a.m. Friday July 13. He had been in ill health two years since suffering a stroke. He was supervisor of water service when he retired from employment with the Nickel Plate Railroad. Mr. Sampson moved to Veedersburg five years ago when he married Mrs. Cecil Shoaf and she survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Beatrice Rumbaugh of Lima, Ohio; two sons, Charles and William of Lima, Ohio; four sisters: Mrs. Etta Starns of Crawfordsville; Mrs. Effie Summers of Frankfort; Mrs. Eva Goodin of Wallace and Mrs. Lizzie Standish of Bluffton. He was a member of the Veedersburg Evangelical United Brethren Church. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Freedom Christian Church with Rev. Samuel Pritchard and Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiating. Burial was in Wolfe Creek Cemetery with the Fishero Funeral Home in charge. – kbz
