SAMPLE, Ora - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Ora Sample, son of Jacob W. and Sarah Carter Sample, died suddenly Oct 31. He was born Feb 21, 1877 in the Yeddo community, and he spent his entire life there. Due to ill health and ageing, he became despondent and took his own life by hanging in the barn at his home.  Surviving are two grandchildren, Dean Sample of Yeddo with whom Ora had made his home for the past several years and Glenwood; 2 cousins, Elbert Palmer and Embert Mendenhall and 7 great grandchildren. A brother and sister preceded him in death.  Upon investigation, Coroner Charles E. Fishero found a note in his pocket giving his wishes for his funeral arrangements and explaining his actions.  Funeral services will be at 2 Friday at Centennial Church with Rev. Leslie Smith as the officiating minister. The body will lie in state one hour preceding services. Burial will be in Bonebrake Cemetery with Fishero Funeral Home in charge. – kbz
