Mrs. Edna
Sample, 74 wife of Ora Sample and a native of Fountain County died Wednesday
morning early at her home in Yeddo following a short illness. She was born
November 22, 1878 the daughter of George Washington and Margaret Chumley Helms.
She was married in 1898 to Ora Sample who survives. She was preceded in death
by a son, Conway. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Fannie Newnum of Yeddo;
three brothers, Hardy, Charley and Vernon Helms all of Veedersburg, two
grandsons and 5 great grandchildren. She was a member of Centennial Church and
the Baptist Aid Society of Yeddo. Funeral services were held Friday at 2:00 in
the Centennial Church with Rev. Leslie Smith officiating. Burial in Bonebrake
Cemetery with Fishero Funeral Home in charge. – kbz
