SALTS, Alvin - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Alvin Bert Salts, 84, West Lebanon, died at Meadow Heights Nursing Home, Williamsport, 11:50 a.m. Sunday. He had been a resident there since November 1973.

  He was born in Greenwood, Ark., Dec. 12, 1890, the son of Wallace and Lula Hiette Salts. He lived in Warren County most of his life.

  He was married to Louise Ellen Young in 1913 in Williamsport. She preceded him in death in 1958.

  He had been with the Illinois Central Railroad 40 years, retiring in 1955.

  Survivors include one son, Walter of West Lebanon; one daughter, Mrs. Hazel Woodard, of Westville, Ill.; a brother, Herman Salts of Peru; a sister, Mrs. Fairy Gipson of Peru.

  Services were held at the Fisher Funeral Home in West Lebanon on Thursday, Dec. 26 with the Rev. William Thompson officiating. Burial was in West Lebanon Cemetery. – thanks to S
