Roy Everett Saker Sr., age 75, of 919 Jefferson St., a former resident of Cedar Lake, died at 9:25 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at his home. He had been ill six months. Mr. Saker was born Oct. 8, 1888, at Columbus, Kan., the son of Samuel and Rosa Halstead Saker. He was married Dec. 27, 1947 to Mary Vickery Shoaf, who survives. He had been a printer with the Rand-McNally Co., for 45 years. He moved to Covington three years ago. He was a member of the typographical union and the Baptist Church. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: one son, Roy E. Saker Jr., of Griffith; two daughters, Mrs. Rosa Paxton of Hammond and Mrs. Ruth Barnhart of Redding, Calif.; two brothers, William J. of Neodesha, Kan., and Edward of Mulberry, Kan.; two sisters, Mrs. Tillie Fite of Chicago and Mrs. Gladys Stedman of Molalla, Ore.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today, April 25, at the Hegg Funeral Home. The Rev. Glenn Ray and the Rev. E. E. McConnell officiated. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.   --typed by Walt W
