COVINGTON, Ind. (CNS) – Richard Eugene Sadler, 42, a former resident of Danville and Covington, died at 5:30 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 28, 1974) at his home in Evansville. He had been ill some time with a heart condition. Born May 30, 1931, in Gessie, he was the son of Ross J. and Irene Cunningham Sadler. He was married Jan. 29, 1966, to Rosalie Wantland, who survives. He had resided in the Covington area until his transfer to Evansville three years ago. He had been employed by the C & EI and L & N Railroads for 25 years as a dispatcher. A graduate of Danville High, he was a veteran of service with the Third Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Benson Chapel United Methodist Church, Olive Branch Masonic Lodge, Danville Scottish Rite, Hadi Shrine of Evansville and Curtis G. Redden American Legion Post 210 in Danville. He was a former member and past councilor of the Lockhart DeMolay Chapter in Danville and had helped organize and was chapter dad for the Covington DeMolay Chapter. Other survivors include three sons, Jack E. in the Navy, Richard of Danville and Dan at home; his parents of Covington; and a sister, Miss Helen Sadler of Covington. Friends will be received after 6 p.m. today and until 8 p.m. Saturday at the Alexander West Funeral Home in Evansville. The body will then be brought to the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington where friends will be received after 1 p.m. Sunday. Masonic rites will be there at 8 p.m. Sunday. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home The Rev. Jerry Kissinger will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.   -– jlr
