COVINGTON – Mrs. Irene Sadler, 64, Covington, a partner with her husband in a local dry cleaning firm, died Tuesday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill. She was a 25-year member and past worthy matron of Troy Chapter 145 Order Eastern Star at Covington, and member and past mighty chosen one of Gao-Caldon 48, Danville. She also held memberships in Achsah White Shrine 65, Danville; Daughters of the Nile, Terre Haute; and Benson Chapel United Methodist Church. Born May 24, 1912, in Mound Township, Warren County, she was a daughter of Clyde and Gertrude Schuff Cunningham. She was married Sept. 6, 1930, to Ross Sadler. He survives. A former resident of Danville, she had resided here since 1965. Other survivors are a daughter, Helen L. of Covington; a brother, Clyde Cunningham of Danville; a sister, Mrs. Elvin (Marie) Harper of Stone Bluff; and three grandsons. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home with the Rev. Loran Todd officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.   -– jlr

Services were Thursday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home for Mrs. Irene Sadler, 64, a resident of Covington since 1965 and a former resident of Danville. She died at 8:35 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 1977, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She had been a patient six weeks.

  The Rev. Loran Todd officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

  Mrs. Sadler and her husband had operated the Sadler Cleaners in Covington. She was a past worthy matron and a 25-year member of Troy Chapter 145 Order of Eastern Star.

  She was also a past Mighty Chose One of the Gao Caldren 48 of Danville, a member of the Achash White Shrine 65 in Danville, Daughters of the Nile in Terre Haute and Benson Chapel United Methodist Church.

  Born May 24, 1912, in Mound Township of Warren County she was the daughter of Clyde and Gertrude Schuff Cunningham. She was married Sept. 2, 1930, to Ross Sadler, who survives.

  Other survivors include a daughter, Helen Sadler, of Covington; a sister, Mrs. Elvin (Marie) Harper of Stone Bluff; a brother, Clyde Cunningham of Danville; three grandsons, Jack E. of Covington, Richard W. of Danville, and Daniel Wantland of Covington; and a great grandson and several nieces and nephews.
