SACKMIRE, Mary Mitchell

Tuesday- KINGMAN- Mrs. Mary Sackmire, 84, died Saturday morning in St. Elizabeth’s Hospital at Danville, Ill. where she had been a patient 10 days. Mrs. Sackmire had been visiting a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Hoover, at Danville when she became ill. Born Sept. 2, 1880 in Parke County, she was a daughter of William and Martha Monroe Doss Mitchell. She married Albert Sackmire, who died several years ago. Mrs. Sackmire was a member of the Centennial EUB Church. Survivors include the daughter with whom she had been visiting and three other daughters, Miss Mae Sackmire of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Doris Wallace of Dallas and Mrs. Mildred Grannan of Indianapolis; two sons, Harold of near Kingman and Lloyd of Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. Jess Holland of near Marshall; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Lex; two brothers and four sisters. The body was brought to Woodrow Funeral Home here. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sackmire Cemetery five miles east of here. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Monday.

Kingman – Mrs. Mary Sackmire, 84, mother of Lloyd R. Sackmire, superintendent of the Tippecanoe School Corp, Lafayette, died Saturday in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville, Ill.  She had been a patient in the hospital for two weeks with a heart ailment. Born in Fairmount, Ill, she was married to Albert Sackmire in 1896; he died in 1931.  She was a member of Centennial EUB Church here. Survivors include another son, Harold Sackmire of Kingman and four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Hoover of Danville, Ill; Miss May Sackmire of Long Beach, Calif; Mrs. Doris Wallace of Dallas, Tex and Mrs. Mildren Grannon of Indianapolis and a sister, Mrs. Jess Holland of near Marshall.
