WAYNETOWN, Ind. (CNS) -- Mrs. Edith Runyan, 85, of Waynetown, died at 4:15 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 29, 1972) at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville, where she had been a patient since Thursday evening. Born Jan. 30, 1886, near Waynetown, she was the daughter of Squire and Julia Grenard Rusk. She was married to Walter Runyan on Sept. 20, 1905, who died in June of 1966. Mrs. Runyan was a member of the Waynetown Baptist Church, the Ladies Aid society, the Delta Alpha Sunday school class, the Waynetown Order of the Eastern Star 435, the American Legion Auxiliary 445, and the Montgomery County Chapter of the DAR. A graduate of Waynetown High, she was the oldest living alumna. Survivors include two sons, Byron and Elihu, both of Waynetown; three grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Tuesday at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rob James officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Sunday and 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
