RUMAS, Elaine Cheak - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

  Mrs. Elaine Rumas, 64, Attica, died at 9:55 a.m. Saturday, October 29, in Carbondale, Illinois.

  She was born January 19, 1919 in Oxford, the daughter of Fred E. and Francis E. Smith Cheak. August 14, 1946, she married John Rumas, who survives. She was a graduate of Attica High School, a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Attica and was past president of the Business and Professional Woman’s Club. An artist, she at one time was employed by Smith Studio and also assisted her mother with Cheak’s Restaurant.

  Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Robert Feistel of White Hall, Michigan; and two brothers, Robert E. Cheak of Danville, Illinois, and Derald N. Cheak of Cross Lake, Minnesota.

  Services were conducted Tuesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Rev. Edward Mutuszak officiating. Burial was in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. -s
