William R. Royal, 53, 2913 Algonquin Drive, Lafayette, died at Home Hospital, Lafayette, Tuesday, Jan. 22, at 5:37 a.m., having been ill one month.
He was born at Mellott March 16, 1931, the son of Ralph and Minnie Davidson Royal. He had formerly lived in Mellott and had been a resident of Lafayette for the past 28 years. HE was married March 31, 1957, in Attica to JoAnne Cundiff, who survives.
He had attended Richland Township School at Newtown and was a supervisor in the tube mill at Alcoa for 38 years. He had served in the Korean Conflict in the Air Force. He was a member of the 25-year Club at Alcoa and enjoyed sports, particularly baseball.
Surviving, besides the wife, are one son, Joe Bill, two daughters, Jami and Jeanne, all at home; two
sisters, Mrs. Mary Louise Wilson, Speedway, and Mrs. Clara Deen Farren, Tacoma, Wash. And a half sister Martha Belle Wendall, Hillsboro. Funeral services were held in the Maus Funeral Home Chapel Thursday, Jan. 24, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William M. Chapman officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
