Mrs. Walter Royal died at her home in Richland Township on Wednesday of ptomaine poisoning after five days’ illness. She was formerly Verna Meeker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Meeker and a sister of Mrs. IA Jones of Attica. She leaves a husband and five children.  One son, Carl is in army service and stationed at Bellaire, GA while another son Halbert is stationed at Allentown, Pa. The former will arrive home on Friday but Halbert is quarantined and it is probable that he will not be able to come.  One daughter, Mrs. Roy Guy lives in Richland and two younger daughters, Wreath and Hazel are living at the home.  Mrs. Royal was an exemplary mother an excellent wife and a kind neighbor.  Many friends who know of her splendid qualities will mourn with the family in their bereavement. - kbz
