VEEDERSBURG, Ind. (CNS) -- Clinton Campbell Royal, 65, of Veedersburg, died at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday (March 7, 1973) at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville. He had been a patient four weeks. Born July 30, 1907, at Mellott, he was the son of Ralph and Nellie Shultz Royal. He was married Jan. 30, 1932, to Christel E. Jones, who died Dec. 13, 1964. He then married Sharon Bowers McCullum April 9, 1966, who survives. A resident of Fountain County most of his life, he was a farmer in the Covington, Veedersburg and Mellott areas until 1965. He was employed at the Covington Grain Co. from 1965-1971 and by the Indiana State Highway Department since 1971. He was a member of the Community Bible Church of Veedersburg. Other survivors include two sons, Lt. Col. Gerald Royal in the Army at Frankfurt, Germany, and Maj. Donald Royal of the Army in Wayne, Pa.; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Nellie) Hardy of Covington Route 3; a step-son, Fred McCollum of Washington, D.C.; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Sam (Mary Jo) Foley, Mrs. Donald (Bonnie) Harvey and Mrs. Jane Greenroyd, all of Veedersburg; a sister, Mrs. Martha Belle Wendall of Hillsboro; a half-brother, Bill Royal of Lafayette; two half-sisters, Mrs. Mary Louise Wilson of Indianapolis and Mrs. Claradeen Farren of Seattle, Wash.; his step-mother, Mrs. Minnie Thompson of Mellott; 10 grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Saturday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington, with the Rev. Henry Stidham officiating. Burial will be in Newtown Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday.   --typed by Walt W
