ROWLETT, Fern McKinney

Mrs. Ben (Fern McKinney) Rowlett, a Newtown native, died at age 93, in the Eliza Jenning Home, Cleveland Ohio, on Oct. 5, 1980. Mrs. Rowlett was born July 25, 1887, at the McKinney homestead east of Newtown. She was the daughter of Charles and Mary Miller McKinney. She graduated from Western College, Ohio, and became a School Principal from 1916 - 1918 of the Kingman High School. She and her husband owned a grocery store in Cleveland for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Marian, a brother, Glenn; and two sisters, Georgia McKinney and Gladys Wright. Surviving are several nieces and nephews, among whom are Lawrence McKinney and Mrs. Paul R. Foster, both of Fountain County. Burial will be in Cleveland. -– jlr
